How to Overcome 5 Self Resticting Job Approaches

When it comes to your approach in searching for a job, you want to restrict yourself as little as possible. However, most people end up (unknowingly) restricting themselves and put themselves into an ever tightening loop of activity that chokes the life out of their search. This is why so many people have given up in their job search and resigned themselves to the “reality that there are just no jobs out there”!

Nothing could be further from the truth – there are jobs out there, and people who are able to keep themselves from restricting their search, find them. It’s a matter of becoming aware of what these self-restricting approaches are and avoiding them. Unfortunately much of what the “common wisdom” is about how to approach a job search has self-restricting elements built right into it.

Come and learn what the 5 approaches are that may be restricting you from finding your next career position and get empowered to avoid them!

Don't miss this topic presentation by Greg Dillon, Director of Business Development - Georgia Institute of Technology.

Also, as a double treat, you will hear the testimony of Sara Armstrong, who is the author of "Shattered Pearl", but who is also a recent job seeker.  She will inspire all seekers with her story.

Networking, Make it Fun and Make it Personal

Networking – Make it Fun & Make it Personal

Statistics tell us repeatedly that 80% of people find their jobs through other people – whether they are looking for a job or not.

BUT, so many people are turned off and uncomfortable with the entire concept of networking.

What is networking?  Networking is nothing more than meeting new people – hearing their story, telling your story, sharing of ideas or information or contacts, and the best part is that perhaps it can lead to a new friendship.

Come have some fun meeting other people at our next meeting and learn techniques where you can easily and more effectively build a larger network of good contacts.

Jeanette Matern is a Career Coach at BrightPath Career Coaching and she also provides consulting services to Right Management, the leading Career Management and Talent Management HR Consulting Company.  Jeanette will share ideas on how to meet new people COMFORTABLY; where to go to meet others; how to have fun “working a room” at a networking event, and how to easily start conversations with people you don’t know.

Plus - here from the CEO of Thompson Enterprises, David Thompson, as he tells his amazing story!

When:  Monday, April 16, 5:30 PM

Where:  Piedmont Church, 570 Piedmont Road, Marietta GA - Conference Center at back of lot

Which of the following two responses would you like to hear from the hiring manager at your next face-to-face interview?
“As you know, we are interviewing other candidates so we’ll have to get back to you.” or "WOW that was impressive!"

Our studies show that job seekers who are prepared with the WOW Interview have a 46% success rate* of getting a job offer. Compared to the national average of 12%! This is a substantial difference.

Helping you become the top candidate at your next interview is our goal.
